There is a frustrating tussle going on between the ministry & me on the terms of the contract. They have proposed an arbitary reduction of contractual fee and are unwilling for any negotiation. Their tactic seem to drag until I’ll give in. Dealing with this situation every quarter isn’t pleasant at all.

I joined a three months course two weeks back. After college this is the first course that I want to undergo and complete.

If the impasse continues, then I may have to say good-bye.

When I got this offer in 2008 Dec, I thought I’ll continue for 7 years. Once I joined , it came down to 3 years. Now it may be just year & half.

To be honest I too want to go back to South. I miss going to beach, st Thomas mount, PVR and on and on. May it’s time for that.

After a very long time, I am listening to Elvis – may be 2 years. I used to listen to his songs almost on a daily basis when in Belgium, so it was only natural to be transported to those days of cheers, dances, wines and all other romantic memories.

It’s not hurting, just a good old memory. I miss my friends though. Wish to meet them at least once.

In the last post I wrote about the reason behind pessimistic start for the weekend. But the weekend turned out to be a lot better since I got lot done.

It started with a call to Bangalore. I spoke to all at home. Probably that set the positive energy rolling.

Since I wanted to establish myself as a business consultant, I setup a new domain http://www.jjude.biz and started to write business related articles. In the few weeks I managed to get decent visitors profile. Saturday I posted a blog post there.

I am also trying with the idea of generating residual income. So I had registered with suite101 (link to my homepage is in .biz site). They are pretty tight about writing quality. It took more than a week to get the first article get accepted. It was put under revision thrice. But in these two days I posted two articles. Though I have an inclination to write, I found out that it takes a long time to write an article in a decent manner.

I also organized my music library. This has been pending for a long time. Now I’ve about 2000 songs (down from something like 4k). It will take years to organize it. Might just leave it.

Then in the evening we went out for dinner too.

All of this is with spending plenty of time with Piyo.

As you can see I got a lot done and I can cross-out a lot of rows from my to-do list. Am haapy about it.

This keeps happening every 3 months. My contract has to be renewed every 3 months. And being used to at least some respectful treatment in corporate, it’s a frustrating experience repeated every 3 months.

My contract expired by June. I have been enquiring the concerned official about renewal of contract. She said on Monday that my contract is renewed & communicated to the HR agency. But today I was told by the VP of that HR agency that the contract is not yet renewed & they want to bargain the price. I have told the HR agency that I’m not ready for even a Rupee reduction. And if they don’t renew by end of next weekend then I would stop.

Let’s see.

Its raining heavily here in Delhi. You can say like cats & dogs. Its so heavy that roads are flooded.

And I’m stuck in Rajiv Chowk since metro trains are delayed. In fact more than 30 min all that I’m hearing is ‘train to Dwarka will start in next 5 min.’

This is the 3rd time this year that I’m stuck in Rajiv Chowk. Delhi metro isn’t so reliable as advertised.

Such times are irritating too since you see so many people jumping queues and blocking the entrance. Thats when you realize you are in bloody India

• He dropped Rani’s mobile in the water bucket and now it doesn’t work any more. Since I worked last weekend, she will be without mobile for almost 2 weeks.
• Despite being surrounded by his toys, he would grab whatever is in your hand – TV remote, Newspaper, Book or whatever.
• When I was in iGATE they gifted a Tea Cup and I usually drink out of it. He wants to drink only from that and not from his milk-bottle. He will fight for the cup even while he is drinking milk from his bottle.
• When Rani is in kitchen, he wants to be in the kitchen playing. He wants to play with pet bottles and anything that is in the kitchen – sometime he pulls the gas tube!
• When Rani is washing clothes, he wants to be in the bathroom playing with water (that is how he dropped her mobile).
• He enjoys playing peek-a-boo. Especially when he is placed in the walker. He could swing the walker and enjoys the play.
• He demands that I carry him when I am ready to go to work. So invariably either we cheat him or I get delayed.

I had to work on both days of the weekend 🙁 Didn’t like it, but had no choice.

First 2 days of the week was good ones  – there was rain and it cooled. But the past 3 days were hot and sweaty. So working on all 7 days was no fun in this heat.

Did I watch the football finals? Nope. My world has changed.

We went for medical checkup on Saturday. He has grown well both in height & weight. But yesterday & today he had kinda loose-motion. He would’ve passed at least six times daily. But we have’t taken him to doc since he is still active and well. But I’m very concerned. I was playing with him full day. He is cranky though.

I missed watching my favorite french open finals.

I got to know about Fed’s wimbledon exit from facebook.

I don’t know when was the last time I watched my favorite comedy ‘friends’.

My world revolves only of Piyo (& Rani). Whatever he does new or doesn’t do is the news. I’m completely abstracted from the world. I don’t know if its good, sometimes I feel little strange. But thats how life is now.
