Nothing beats Bangalore

Chennai has its charm of beach. And Coimbatore is pleasant throughout the year.

But its sweaty in Chennai and there is water scarcity. Oh, add the power (I’m not talking about politics) issues too.

There aren’t many IT cos in Coimbatore.

Bangalore has a pleasant climate and full of job opportunities. So it makes it as a perfect destination.

Its just three of us

Piyo has always been surrounded by crowd since his birth – Rani’s family in Coimbatore; Joy & my parents in Bangalore; and her family first in Delhi and then mine.

Today my parents left to Bangalore. So suddenly it is just three of us.

Piyo has been pampered so far. Don’t know how much he will continue to demand. Either we need to adjust or we need to make him adjust. It is going to be interesting times.

5 months over but it has been tough

Unlike last year this year has been a tough one.

There has been a lot of uncertainity over my contract. Entire month of April was spent in anxiety. Even now the contract is renewed only until end of June. I wouldn’t have worried before, but now married with kid makes me concerned.

Piyo suffered from sickness in this month – twice.

And there was few other losses in both Rani’s family as well as mine.

With all that the past 5 months have not been so great. Hopefully rest of the year is better.

First sickness

Piyo is completing 8 months & we had to go to hospital. His eyes are infected. His eyes have been red for a while & we were of the opinion it was because of excessive heat. When it didn’t subside for 3 days we decided its better to take medical opinion.

With this heat, he has lost weight. He also has not been that active as he used to be.

Hopefully he’ll get better soon

He is me

Piyo looks & behaves likes me in more than one way.

His sleeping pattern is a ditto – early to bed, early to rise. He wakes up at 5-5.30 daily. And he sleeps on his stomach, all the time. In fact Rani tells me that when she wakes up in the middle of the night and she sees me at one corner of the bed & he at another, she is left with wonder how similar we are.

He swings his one leg – while carried, lying in bed and every time. This is a practice my mom has been yelling at me to stop (in fact this is a 3 generational habit carried over from dad).

And the list just goes on. That brings a concern in me too. Will I be lucky like my parents in bringing him up?

It was a tough April

My contract with the Ministry was over in the month of March. I enquired early in Feb, if they would extend or should I look out and they informed that they will extend. So I didn’t bother looking out. But the file (yes in govt they still use files) was sent for only on April 1st. To cut the long story short, it took almost 20 days for the approval to come through and it was a tough time, since I didn’t have another job or project at hand. I had just paid tax, so was short of funds too. It was a good learning for me. The contract is extended only for 3 months now. Hopefully it will extend further too.
