Ultra Scan II shows a normal baby

Last Sunday we went for Ultra Scan II and subsequently to gyn too. She informed us that baby is normal. In fact we questioned her about weight, height etc. She explained patiently that all of these are normal (in fact both of us like the gyn well. She explains things very patiently; not too money minded).

We are now in search of a good name – we want the name to be representative of both of our names / families, but of course we want a good, unique name too. Since finding baby gender is banned in India, we need to keep working on both names. We are doing this more as a fun game for both of us than anything else. Probably once the baby is born, we will throw out everything and name the baby as ‘Joseph Junior’ or ‘Kutti Rani’ 🙂

Sad thing though, doc said only one baby – I thought it will be triplets, at least twins. Just kidding.

Baby is growing normally

Today we went to gyn. She did simple tests and said that the baby is of good growth. In another 15 days Rani will feel the movement of the baby. We are just excited.

It is a different feeling being in an unknown city and not knowing the language. Probably this is bringing us closer together. We keep discussing what would’ve happened if only she conceived a week before I left to Delhi. But yea, everything is as per plans!

Doc said this month and next are the safest. So we might go for some short trips. We both need a good break.

Some updates

  • on arrival back to Delhi, I was informed that PM will inaugurate our
project portal in July. That has set another frantic work schedule.
  • though its tight and tiring work schedule I see it as a service to
the country. Look I didn’t say its social service (free of cost).
  • Rani is always tired. This hellish hot climate is making her far
more tired than any thing else. She isn’t able to accommodate here.
  • considering that Rani isn’t able to cope, we have long discussions
on bringing up the baby either in Bangalore or in Coimbatore
  • since she has adjusted herself to stay in Delhi despite heat and
other factors, I think its only fair for me make her comfortable by
finding a job either in Bangalore or in Chennai (or Coimbatore if there is one)
  • though I keep talking abt Bangalore, I guess my last trip there was the closure. I don’t think I will go back to Bangalore for a job.

Happy News to share

Yes, it has been a long pending news. Right? You guessed it.

I’m going to be a father. OMG! I can’t even grasp what I wrote. It is a big responsibility. But there is still 7 months to get prepared. Last week it was confirmed by the doc. She said everything is normal and she wished us too.

I’m already excited, as you can see from the resumption of this blog. I’ll try to post regularly here.

Simple weekend

With sister in the US and BIL in Chennai, parents are here with me and it is a blessing. I don’t know how to express but to take care of parents who have suffered much to take care of us, is a blessing. I massaged ma’s legs and conversed with dad.

I didn’t go out this two days at all. Got a blackberry from office and I was playing with it most of the time. Wrote a draft on the words that changed my life. I don’t feel a depth in the article and will re-write it. Planning to publish this week.

Why no update?

There has not been update on this page for long. No, I didn’t drop dead (as proven by this entry!)

My days are pretty much occupied with issues in one the project that I’ve taken over now. The project is in such a bad shape that if it is not fixed soon enough my boss’ job (head of IS dept) may be under fire! Added to it, the PM of the project resigned quoting personal reasons and doesn’t care a dime to fix these issues. So it has come to me to clean-up. Extremely unpleasant situation and a tough situation to handle.

In order not to go insane, I keep writing few articles and then do some programming. I do some swimming as well. But not able to keep schedules as the wacky nature of the project throws of the schedules.

Other than that, hmmm… life is going on.

A busy entry into (birth)day

It has been a crazy day today. Started working from 10 in the morning (I had gone to bed by 4 earlier).

Towards the evening I was on call with one or the other – with VP, with department head, with various developers and so on and on and on. Man! it was busy.

I am entering my birthday alone, far away from all relatives and friends, busy fixing issues in the process.
