Another travel and the same memory

Tomorrow morning I am planning to travel to Chennai to attend one of my ex-colleague’s marriage. She used to work in my earlier firm and she is a wonderful person herself and a fantastic team mate. Now she is working in e-Bay. I’m thrilled to see her get married and also, if possible, to see some of my ex-colleagues.

Including this trip, I’ve driven to Chennai thrice in the past 6 months. Though I am looking forward to the trip, I am little concerned about the weather – it is heavy rains both here and in chennai; plus there has been earthquake in Indonesia recently. Not that I am keen on living; but I am not keen on dying as well.

Every time I have to take a trip, one of the old memories flash through. I miss the company I had in each of the trips. As I cruise along, my mind will ponder those memories.

I know I need to live in the present. But I cant but help thinking of those times.

I’m back

I drove 1400 kms in 5 days! In India! It was a fantastic experience.

We took about 10.5 hrs to reach Tuticorin on Saturday. The proud smile that Dad had when I parked the car in the house made me forget all the tiredness.

Next day (Sunday) we went to the church festivity. And in the evening we went to the beach.

Monday was a tiring one. We visited a lot of churches. But the amazing thing was my mother meeting an old friend of hers – she met her after about 30 years.

Tuesday I drove to my native. The feeling that I got by parking the car in front of our house (which was a hut when I was born) was inexplicable. Fantastic! Then I visited the grave of my younger brother. It is always an emotional moment for me. Though I may not show it outside, that moment always moves me.

Then we drove to Uvari, where we had organized a charity lunch in the church. It was also a good experience. On the way back we stopped at Manappad, where we spent considerable time in the beach. We had the beach all for ourselves. We played on the beach.

Today we started again at 5 in the morning. I drove for almost 12 hours.

I feel tired. But emotionally feel great.

Unplanned trip; Unusual experience

I am used to undertake unplanned trips – just take the car and drive and see what comes up. Most of the time, I’ve ended up enjoying. So was this Sunday’s trip.

I’ve been asking around to find a place to drive and see. My boss (one who is leaving), suggested a ‘Danish Dairy Farm’ in Kanakapura Road, near Bangalore. I was thinking of driving there for the past two weeks; but I wasn’t on the mood.

Yesterday I drove to Kanakapura Road. But wait, ‘getting lost is my hobby’. I drove long and long and didn’t locate this farm. I kept driving until I reached kanakapura! Then I saw a sign board with direction to ‘Cauvery Fishing Camp’ at a distance of 50 km. Hmm…wacky thought of driving to there, got into my mind.

Oh! Wait. I need to mention about this incidence before proceeding. I stopped for lunch at a restaurant on the way. The board outside looked so colorful that I couldn’t resist taking a photo. From nowhere this guy comes up and asks in Kannada, ‘why did you take the photo of the board?’ I tried reasoning with him,

‘I am a tourist; I took it because it looked nice’

Slowly 3 other guys from the restaurant joined and I couldn’t bring any sense to them. This bloody idiot repeated the same bloody idiotic question again and again. Finally they let me go, only after I deleted the picture. Of course, one guy told me that there was a documentary in a series called ‘Crime Story’ which covered this restaurant! I have no clue what happened. But I realized it could be a dangerous place. It was a bit scary but thrilling incident.

Other than that incident, there was no other irritating incident – of course I am not considering the crowded traffic or the narrow roads.

The route goes via many villages. There was clay houses on both sides of the roads, reminding of the house were I was born. It is a long journey from one of those houses to where I’m!

Once I reached there, I forgot all the tiredness; in fact I forgot my world. It is an un-spoilt serene nature. There was absolutely no crowd. I remembered the trip I took with KD to Landsberg were we stopped by the river bed and relaxed. It was something similar to that (in most of the sense 😉 ). I did miss her though.

Given a choice, I would’ve stayed there. But I had to come back. 🙁

It was a pleasant time!

Romantic Weekend

It was a long pending wish coming true. I miss being in the beach – gazing the starry night; hearing the roars of the waves and enjoying the pleasure of the sea waves tickling the body. I wanted to go to Chennai and do what I was missing. For one reason or the other, this trip was postponed many times. Finally I made it last weekend. And it turned out to be a fantastic experience, despite thunderstorm forecast (as usual the forecast became a false alarm
