In the morning, I went walking near Bloor Street. Then in the noon, I went to the Ontario Lake through Yonge Street and Front Street (where the client office is). Yonge is a commercial street

It is damn cold in here
Can you believe that it is -13 yesterday and it would go down to -20 today? Add to that fact that with chill winds it always feel lower than these temps, like yesterday it felt like -20 and today it will be much worse. The weather folks recommend a min of 6 layers of clothing. That is awful compared to almost nakedness in Chennai. Weather folks also announced that if a part of the skin is exposed for about half hour, it would be frozen. I thought to myself, we should transport all those Indian men who pee on the roads to here; they would and could never do that again!
With the cold it is becoming difficult to go out in the evening. I wanted to go for a walk or to buy some grocery. But for the past three days, after I come back to room, I feel extremely tired (is it that I
First day in RBC
The first day wasn’t bad at all. In fact, I’m pretty impressed with the way I carried myself.
There is a lot of resistance for this whole project idea. I will have to spend considerable amount of time in selling this idea. I’m not new to this approach; I had to do this for the project that I handled back in offshore as well. I have kick-off meetings tomorrow with the sponsors and other stakeholders. Hope at least the sponsor is ok with this idea; otherwise the project will fall flat.
They have provided me with an IBM laptop. Cool one; much faster one as well.
I had (Greek) Gyros & salad for lunch. I had chicken donner (Turkish) for yesterday’s dinner. I am sure by the time I return to India, I would gain all the weight that I lost; may be gain even more. Speaking of which, I don’t have any wheezing here (confirming my belief that it was due to dust allergy) but I do feel bit uncomfortable with freezing cold. I will have to look at some place where I can start doing exercises.
A free day in Toronto
When a firm sends someone to onsite, they will ensure that they are fully utilized; which means travel during weekends, land on just the previous day and so on. This is usual stuff. But this trip was different. I got a day and a half free to spend!

First Impressions
After a warm shower, went out for a walk and grocery shopping. It is nice to walk without a fear of being hit by crazy drivers. But I need to walk carefully because of snow.
Why is every car so dirty? They don’t clean their cars in Canada? Or did it snow dirt? I don’t know but every car I see is so dirty.
And why didn’t anyone tell me Church Street is a Gay Street? I see men and men walking hand-in-hand; women kissing women….ooooo…disgusting. Lip of a women is sacred, don’t do that. Ok, now I can’t go out with other guys staying in this suite. I got to find a gal. See, it is not my mistake at all. Not at all. Either I need to find a gal or be haunted by single gay men. I prefer the earlier.
I shopped in a near-by big store by name ‘No Frills’. I got to hit myself to remember all that I used to shop in Belgium. What is that name of the spread again? Damn…is it …don’t remember at all. Without being able to remember, I bought some bread, spanish salad and few other items.
I had bread and spanish salad for dinner. You ask how was it? Disaster. Complete disaster. I better find something else to eat.
Tomorrow is a free day for me. So will go out again and get something good to eat or find some place good to eat.
Finally in Canada
Pff..For all the trouble that this assignment gave from November, there were no issues in the trip at all. Everything went as smooth as possible. Flying 18 hours is bit tiring (if I count transit and other times it is much more); but I am ok.
Got a wireless connectivity. But I didn’t bring my universal adaptor. So can’t be online for long. Have to go out and get one.
Everywhere it is snow here. Pretty chill. Will try to blog as much as possible. Hope you guys will enjoy it.
Checked into Town Inn suites. Tel: 416.964.3311. Room #: 2108. Call me if you can. Count the time difference though.
Room is pretty sufficient for a single person. It even has kitchen. May be I will try out something. It has a bath. I’m going to treat myself in this time. A sweet melody; a nice wine and a warm bath – that would be one hell of a time.
I am used to missing bikes, beaches and books. For the first time, I am missing people. Surprising, but it is a fact.

We are back
After days of being in scenic Madikeri and places around, we are back on Monday evening. It was a wonderful time. This was the first time I drove long distance in India and I absolutely loved it. Will post photos soon.
Going on a trip
After a long time (probably a year), I am going on a long drive. We (sister, BIL & wife) are driving to Madekeri, which is around 6 hrs drive from Bangalore. We are starting tomorrow morning. We will be back on Monday evening.
Hopefully this is going to be a good time.
