Parents are here

My parents are here. They came on Sunday and they will be here until 24th. They are leaving on 24th along with Rani to Tuticorin. I wish she didn’t have to go. But since this is our first baby I just want to have everything taken care of properly to avoid any mishaps. Also Rani wants her whole relatives around when the baby is born. So I thought it is better for her to be in Coimbatore. It is going to be a difficult 5 months in Delhi. πŸ™

Ultra Scan II shows a normal baby

Last Sunday we went for Ultra Scan II and subsequently to gyn too. She informed us that baby is normal. In fact we questioned her about weight, height etc. She explained patiently that all of these are normal (in fact both of us like the gyn well. She explains things very patiently; not too money minded).

We are now in search of a good name – we want the name to be representative of both of our names / families, but of course we want a good, unique name too. Since finding baby gender is banned in India, we need to keep working on both names. We are doing this more as a fun game for both of us than anything else. Probably once the baby is born, we will throw out everything and name the baby as ‘Joseph Junior’ or ‘Kutti Rani’ πŸ™‚

Sad thing though, doc said only one baby – I thought it will be triplets, at least twins. Just kidding.

Presentation to the minister

In less than 6 months, I met ministers thrice, that too two different ministers. And all the times, I was the only non-IAS, non-govt person. I never even dreamt of this in my life.

The presentations went well. In fact the minister agreed to launch the project formally – most probably it will be launched in end of August by PM. Despite all the difficulties in the work, I consider this as my little service to the nation. No one can say, I didn’t do anything for the country right?

Baby is growing normally

Today we went to gyn. She did simple tests and said that the baby is of good growth. In another 15 days Rani will feel the movement of the baby. We are just excited.

It is a different feeling being in an unknown city and not knowing the language. Probably this is bringing us closer together. We keep discussing what would’ve happened if only she conceived a week before I left to Delhi. But yea, everything is as per plans!

Doc said this month and next are the safest. So we might go for some short trips. We both need a good break.

Some updates

  • on arrival back to Delhi, I was informed that PM will inaugurate our
project portal in July. That has set another frantic work schedule.
  • though its tight and tiring work schedule I see it as a service to
the country. Look I didn’t say its social service (free of cost).
  • Rani is always tired. This hellish hot climate is making her far
more tired than any thing else. She isn’t able to accommodate here.
  • considering that Rani isn’t able to cope, we have long discussions
on bringing up the baby either in Bangalore or in Coimbatore
  • since she has adjusted herself to stay in Delhi despite heat and
other factors, I think its only fair for me make her comfortable by
finding a job either in Bangalore or in Chennai (or Coimbatore if there is one)
  • though I keep talking abt Bangalore, I guess my last trip there was the closure. I don’t think I will go back to Bangalore for a job.
